Man Walks Away from Lightning Strike on Crawford Path in New Hampshire
Glen Rowland of Newtown, Connecticut, was hit by lightning on Sunday, July 24, 2016, on Crawford Path in the New Hampshire White Mountains. He refused help from hikers and spent the night in scrub before firefighters from Windham found him.
Joseph Gray Wins Mount Washington Road Race in 58:15
Joseph Gray won the Mount Washington Road Race on June 18, 2016 running the base to summit 7.3 mile race in 58:15. Kim Dobson was the fastest woman in 1:09.
June Snow on Mount Washington
Mount Washington Observatory reports 1.8 inches for new snow on the summit on June 8-9 with winds sometimes hitting 100 mph. Mount Washington had 8.1 inches for the month in 1959 adn 5.1 inches fell in one day in 1988.
