Man Walks Away from Lightning Strike on Crawford Path in New Hampshire
Glen Rowland of Newtown, Connecticut, was hit by lightning on Sunday, July 24, 2016, on Crawford Path in the New Hampshire White Mountains. He refused help from hikers and spent the night in scrub before firefighters from Windham found him.

Katahdin’s Dudley Trail Closed Until 2018
Maine has closed the 1.3-mile 1,988 foot elevation gain Dudley Trail from Chimney Pond up Pamola until 2018 because of rock fall. The strenuous trail was often used Baxter Peak summit, Knife Edge and Pamola Peak loop.
