Update April 27
Jordan’s father reported that he is 20,000 foot on the mountain now. In response to criticism about whether his lungs could handle he was quoted on Good Morning America:

“I’ve researched every bit of published information that’s ever been done on children and altitude, and there’s nothing negative about children and altitude,” Romero said. “Those are just naysayers. Those are people who think a 13-year-old shouldn’t be in the mountains.”

Jordan’s team is following the Northeast Ridge, considered the more difficult of the two most frequently used routes to the summit, on which climbers begin their ascent in Tibet.
